The cat for you?

Syl is my much beloved cat of seven years. It is with much sadness that I am looking to find her a new home 😿. My GF, Clementine, and I moved in together at the start of the pandemic — and we have since been trying (and failing!) to integrate Syl with her cat, Taco. Sadly, living with another cat just seems to be a deal breaker for Syl.

The good news is, she plays very nicely with people! 😺 Admittedly I’m biased, but I think she is a luxurious and debonaire beast.

The cat for you?

Syl is my much beloved cat of seven years. It is with much sadness that I am looking to find her a new home 😿. What makes her so wonderful?

• Extreme softness
• Excellent house manners
• She never scratches nor bites either people or furniture.
• She kind of gallops like a horse. I don’t really know how to explain this, but when she runs, it’s like a horse, not a cat. It’s weird and oddly charming.
• She will sometimes wink at you??

• She sometimes likes to recline like a sphinx, with both arms fully stretched out in front of her.
• She makes lots of funny expressions.
• She sometimes likes to stick her tongue out for extended periods of time.
• She will sometimes gently put her paw on you, as if she were trying to hold your hand.

Some things Syl likes:

• Keeping you company, and being kept company
• Sunbaths
• Vigorous neck scratches (chin, ear, head scratches also very much appreciated)
• Kneading fluffy blankets
• Taking naps with you. Possibly on top of you.
• Chasing strings and crinkle balls 
• Playing with large sheets of paper
• Belly rubs, if she’s in a sleepy mood
• Sleeping at the foot of your bed
• Hanging out next to the shower while you shower, lol

Also, Food!

Syl lives to dine. Beyond mere cat snacks, she seems to have a peculiar love for pizza, pastries, ice cream, sandwiches... the list goes on (generally, I have not fed these things to her, she has simply "helped" herself to them, lol).

She is especially fond of chicken in any and all forms — she even understands the word “chicken”, I swear.

Is there anything she does not like?

Yes, mostly just two things:

1. Being picked up.
2. Other cats — this is the real dealbreaker. She simply will not hang with other cats 🙀 The good news is, she seems to be OK around both dogs and kids. Not a ton of data to go off in that department, but so far so good.
